Level Sensor values in the exe

Postby townltu » Thu Sep 22, 2016 10:18 am

In the 1.24 exe and its derivates( = the english 1.25 and 1.26(nn) )
the different level sensor values for chest and drops (500, 1k, 3k, 5k, 10k, 20k and 1m gold)
can be found "close to each other" in regular distance at offsets 217CE8h, 217CF4h, 217D00h, 217C0C, 217D18, 217D24h and 21D730h
along with the values for the associated experience levels(6, 11, 16, 21, 26 and 31) at 217CECh, 217CF8h, ...
(No idea about 50, 100, 300 600 ..., perhaps thresholds to remove low value items at high party lvls?)

Stumbled upon it because increased experince base values appear to require adaption of the loot in some way.
Of course i was to lazy to test whether changes of these values really have an effect in game,
but the random chance of such a pattern tends to zero.

Posted in Off Topic because i think there is no need to update CF for what can easily be done with any hex editor.
Unless it is possible to actively modify these values with trigger/npc script or whatever in game.

Good find!
Seems like structures of 3 longs each: price, level and something. :)
I was wondering back then where this stuff is located...
Changing it on the flight might be possible, but what the use case?
They are quite global, I suppose and won't work for unopened loot in visited locations.
Although 'an increased luck to find better items' gift from some crazy shaman... ;)
